Before the procedure begins, the doctor will perform a quick analysis of the patients teeth. The doctor will then cover the lips and gums to ensure that they are protected during the procedure. The active ingredient used in the procedure is Hydrogen Peroxide. The Zoom light will break down the Hydrogen Peroxide allowing oxygen to enter the enamel and dentin which will bleech colored substances.

Zoom Teeth Whitening is extremly beneficial. It activly erases the staining effects of coffee, tea, colas, tobacco and red wine. The treatment will also erase the discoloration caused by medicine such as tetracycline and antibiotics and will also erase damage done to teeth by excessive fluoride treatments. As well, a homecare kit can be used in order to prolong the effects of the Zoom treatment.

Some patients may experience a minor tingling experience after the procedure, however, this will dissipate with time. A patient may opt to brush their teeth with a toothpaste targeted at reducing sensitivity.
