The Neostrata Peel is a chemical peel that uses glycolic acid to effectivly and predictably remove surface skin cells leaving the skin looking smoother and healthier. The Neostrata peel works on many areas of the skin including the forehead, browline, cheeks, crowsfeet, mouth lines, chin, back of hands, chest, neck and shoulders. The Neostrata peel is a quick in office procedure that is non-evasive and provides exceptional results.
How it works
The Neostrata peel uses alphahydroxyacids (AHA's) to improve signs of aging and sun damage. The AHA's also work to loosen and remove surface layers of skin. During the treatment a high concentration of glycolic acid is applied to the skin for a short period of time. The glycolic acid is then chemically neutralized to complete the treatment. Glycolic acid works to remove the damaged layer of surface skin cells revealing fresh skin and rebuilding the deeper skin layers. Different concentrations of glycolic acid are used depending on the patient, for example, concentrations usually consist of 20%, 35%, 50% and 70%. The concentration used on a patient will vary depending on their age, lifestyle, skin condition and the number of treatments they have had in the past.
BenefitsThe Neostrata peel significantly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, periorbital solar comedones, mild to moderate acne and acne scarring. The treatment also proves to improve skin texture and minimize pores. Skin will appear and feel smoother, healthier, plumper, tighter and will have more pigmentation. In addition, other procedures can be combined with the neostrata peel, such as microdermabrassion.
What to expectThe Neostrata peel is a very fast procedure with barely any recovery time. Patients can expect to feel no significant pain or discomfort. Some patients may experience a burning sensation after the treatment which will often be associated with redness and swelling. However, the Neostrata peel is a non-evasive procedure and no anesthesia is required.
