During laser vein treatment a beam of light will essentially clear the spider veins. The laser selects the problem veins (usually the pigments in red blood cells and unwanted veins) and applies heat to them killing them without damanging the surrounding layers of skin. After the treatment is complete, the vessels slowly and naturally disappear.

The majority of patients will often benefit from this treatment. Laser vein treatment will safely and effectively treat telangectasis of the face and will diffuse redness caused by damaged blood vessels associated with rosacea. Laser vein treatments will eliminate the vein from ever returning, however, some patients have the natural tendency to form new spider veins with time.

Patients can expect to see results within 3-4 weeks. Treatment usually takes 10-20 minutes and patients will usually have no down time after the treatment. Patients may experience some discomfort during the treatment, for example, some patients describe the treatment as feeling like a series of rubber band snaps to the skin. However, a cooler can be used during the treatment which will diffuse the pain.
