BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non surgical solution to correct moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. BOTOX® cosmetic is a purified protein that is produced by Clostridium boutlinum which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause frown lines between the brows. BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used on men and women ages 18-65 years old and is a quick 10 minute procedure with results that can last up to four months.

BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles in the brow area. This will then reduce the activity of the muscles that cause those persistent lines to form and leave the patient with a decreased or non existent frown line. During the procedure the doctor will administer several tiny injections of BOTOX® into the muscles around the inbrow area. Typically no anesthesia is required, however, the doctor may numb the treatment area with a cold pack or an anesthetic cream prior to the injection.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is extremly beneficial in smoothing moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Botox will leave the patient looking younger and more refreshed. In addition, patients will still be able to make a variety of facial expressions without any resistance.

Patients may experience localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, bleeding, bruising, temporary eyelid drop and nausea. Any discomfort that is felt during the procedure is usually minimal and brief. Patients will typically see marked improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between brows in days. Improvement may last for a month and effects usually last up to four months after the treatment.
